I received an article from the "End Times" publication, a magazine from the Paw Creek Ministries.   It had such a good message that it inspired me to write this tract and place it on our website for your discernment.  It is not plagiarism because the message and the scriptures are straight from the Bible, and I rewrote much of it.  It was just good to hear someone else believe like we do. 

The Believer’s Love for the Commandments of God

In the miracle of the New Birth, the new creature inside brings a love for God's commandments. It is impossible to be a born again Christian and not fall in love with God's laws of righteousness.  

You will never have to argue with a transformed believer about living holy before God.   When God puts His laws (commandments) into you, you will not be able to get away with any improper action without deep conviction.  It will become your delight to live a life of purity!

Until a person is born of the Spirit, he is going to be controlled by his own flesh (self) and soul (personality) in its unredeemed state.  He may be very religious and have a semblance of religious faith, but his love for God's commandments will be immature, legalistic, or non-existent.  Those controlled by their flesh will be selfish, carnal, and evil. Those controlled by their personality will be whatever their personality has become: by experiences, education, and even training.  The church is full of religious personalities that have their own standards, preferences, likes, and dislikes.  You will have a difficult time imposing God's laws and commandments on any of the above crowd.  They will quickly hate you because of your effort to teach them God's holiness!

But, let them come under conviction by the Holy Spirit, and a love for God's commandments will immediately begin to explode.  These new creatures will begin to separate from evil habits, evil persons, and will start seeking after God's ways and God's family of saints.

The flesh, no matter how cultured or well-disciplined, cannot produce a spiritual person. All righteousness that is produced by flesh is self-righteousness, and it is a stench in God's nostrils.  Flesh, even religious flesh, will follow the trends or fads of the religious crowd.  Flesh acts and walks as it pleases and will find a way to feel good about itself.  Many parents have raised their children to be religious without being born again.  The modern church is notorious for lulling each generation without teaching them that God has no grandchildren.  Every person must be firstborn.

Jesus made it absolutely plain, Except a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 

Every living soul is born of woman as flesh.  Your sons and daughters may be raised with the highest of standards, and faithfully follow all you teach them; but if you fail to show them that their flesh produces nothing but flesh, you have failed.  That which is born of the flesh is nothing but flesh, and flesh cannot please God.  But, that which is born of the Spirit becomes spirit.

When man is born of woman, he is unregenerate because of his Adamic nature, and is waiting the moment when the Holy Ghost of God regenerates that dead spirit.  When the Lord Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Ghost at the new birth, the deadened spirit is changed and the new creature is empowered with life.

Such an individual will now begin to hate the bad things they use to love.  The Bible will become a delight, and worldly pleasures will become boring and valueless.  The spiritual life that results from this miraculous encounter with God transforms the mind to begin thinking like God.  The Colossian church was informed, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”  (Colossians 3:1-3).

You cannot experience this new life without results.  Today's worldly church knows nothing of this kind of miracle.  Every minister that cries out against the worldliness and compromise in the church is called a legalist.  Most ministers in the big time world of religious broadcasters can be heard often lambasting any concept of holiness, keeping God's commandments, and other ways of righteous living.  I am amazed at these dear people that have such a hatred for godly living.

Becoming a Christian is not joining the church, becoming religious, being baptized, or trying to reform from past careless living.  Becoming a Christian is an absolute new beginning. As long as people think they can reform, turn over a new leaf, or start being more responsible, and believe that this makes them a Christian, all you have is a little better flesh.  The Bible is a book of totally new beginnings.  When a person comes to the end of himself, and trusts in the redeeming blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, God will create a totally new person.

In the book of  2 Corinthians we have one of the plainest description of the new birth:

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

 The Holy Spirit immediately indwells every new creature.  He puts into the person a pure conscious and a pure desire to live for the Lord Jesus.  The blood washes the sinner so completely pure that God's Holy Spirit can instantly seal and witness of God's acceptance. 

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” (Romans 8:16).

“Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.”  (2 Corinthians 1:22).

A born again Christian will immediately begin to love the holiness of God's Book and His commandments. 

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments…(I John 5:3).

There is nothing hard about God's commandments for the believer.  To the unregenerate man, these are a bondage and restriction to the flesh, and man will hate these commandments if you try to impose them on him.  In fact, he will often hate them if he even hears them mentioned. He will sometimes hate you for daring to suggest such a lifestyle or even for living it in his presence.

The new creature, having been transformed, will love God's commandments just as devotedly as the sinner hates them.  This is the sword that Jesus said would accompany the gospel.  It cuts a sharp line between the regenerated man and the unregenerate man.  The power of the Gospel convicts sinners to walk the narrow road of godly living.  The unregenerate sinner will not likely read the Bible.  The man who says he loves God and always has an excuse for his sins is an unregenerate sinner.  He will say: “We all sin more or less every day.”

Often he will usually sin more, instead of less.  This is an example of our unsaved church.  The Bible makes this extremely clear:

“He that saith, I know him, and keep not his commandments, is a liar,  the truth is not in him.” (I John 2:4)

 Loving and keeping God's commandments is not within the capacity of our flesh.  We are depraved and lost until we quit trusting in our own righteousness.

If you are tired of sin and its bondage, if you are tired of a religious life that offers no freedom and no victory over sinful self and flesh, get born again.

The apostle Paul clearly stated that it was by the commandments of God that he discovered His need of God.  He said, “What shall we say then?  Is the law sin?  God forbid.  Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, thou shalt not covet.”  (Romans 7:7)

When this man,  Paul, saw himself in the light of God's holiness, which is revealed in the truth of His word; he died, or rather became willing to die to sin, that he could then live unto righteousness. He started trusting in God’s righteousness, which was imputed to him.  He stopped trusting in his own righteousness—for he knew he had none.  That is repentance.  Repentance is turning from trusting in your own righteousness 

(which you believe you must do to make yourself acceptable to God) 

and trusting only in His righteousness 

(which you now realize is the only righteousness that will allow you to be accepted of God).

His righteousness is imputed to you by God, at the new birth, when you believe correctly).

Paul was tired of sin and; therefore, cried out to God, “Lord, what would thou have me to do?” (Acts 9:6).

He was converted (born again, made a new creature) on that Damascus Road as Jesus convicted him of sin.

You can be born again.

The church is full of religious people that have never been born again. 

If you are one of them, if there is no assurance in your life of perfect peace with God, if you have been careless in breaking God's commandments, why rest your eternal future on an unsure foundation?

Have faith in his blood atonement at Calvary to wash away your sins!

            Rev 1:5  …Jesus Christ… loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Rom 3:25 (Jesus Christ) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood!!!

When you truly are born again, you will have a love for God's commandments, and will want to turn from your wicked ways, and love His purity and righteousness.
