The 1602 Purified Spanish Bible is the work a FUNDAMENTAL, INDEPENDENT, BIBLE BELIEVING, NATIVE SPANISH-SPEAKING, BAPTIST CHURCH, (Iglesia Bautista Biblica de la Gracia) in Monterrey Mexico, which spent more than 15 years purifying the original 1602 Spanish Bible, revising it using the Greek Textus Receptus, the Hebrew Masoretic Text, and the King James Bible. Their goal was to produce a PURE SPANISH BIBLE with NO CRITICAL TEXT READINGS, which honored and remained true to the old Reina-Valera Castellan Spanish.
The first edition New Testament was first printed in 2001, and the second edition in 1602 (exactly 400 years after the original 1602). I immediately began calling it the 1602 TR (for Textus Receptus). But others called it the 1602R for Restored, or the 1602 Monterrey. Today it's entitled the 1602 Purificada (or Purified), or the 1602P for short. But whatever you want to call it, it fixed all the doctrinal errors in the Spanish Bible, and reads entirely with the correct texts, from which our blessed King James is based!
Believing the work of carefully copying, translating, and defending the word of God is the work of the LOCAL CHURCH instead of CORRUPT BIBLE SOCIETIES (which often deceitfully mix critical text readings in their modern versions), the church in Monterrey, through much prayer and fasting, carefully studied The Greek, Hebrew, and KJV, COMPARING them verse by verse with older versions in Spanish to find the most consistently used Spanish Castellan word. Their work focused on fixing doctrinal errors, making sure no words were omitted, subtracted or mistranslated, and making sure NO CRITICAL TEXT READINGS WERE FOLLOWED. They also made sure their Bible read along with the original 1602 as much as possible, honoring the beauty of the OLD CASTELLAN Spanish language.
Just some of the many Bibles they compared verse by verse were:
1543 Fransico de Enzinas New Testament
1556 Juan Perez de Pineda New Testament and book of Psalms
1553 Ferrara Spanish Old Testament
1817 Valera Revision
1862 Valera Revisión
1865 ABS Revisión
1909 Antigua Spanish Bible
McVey Spanish Bible translation directly translated from the King James
1960 corrupt Spanish modern Bible put out by Eugene Nida
The King James in English
The Alameida Portugese Trinitarian revision
and many more!
This is the version I preach from, and can hold up and dogmatically say, “Thus saith the word of the Lord in Spanish!”
